SR&ED, OIDMTC, and other tax credits Several programs are available which provide tax credits and/or refunds for project activities. Two of the most popular programs include the federal Scientific Research & Experimental Development tax credit program (SR&ED), as well as the Ontario Interactive Digital Media Tax Credit (OIDMTC).
SR&ED
SR&ED has been TSI’s core of expertise over many years. This program provides tax credits and/or cash refunds to companies who are performing Basic or Applied Research, or, as is more commonly the case, Experimental Development. Companies who have developed new (or improved existing) products, processes, or materials, can be eligible to apply. OIDMTC
The Ontario Digital Media Tax Credit is a refundable tax credit that covers eligible labour, marketing, and distribution expenses for Ontario companies who are developing interactive multimedia products. Example eligible projects include games, educational, and informational products. |
