On June 2, 2010, the CRA released an updated Guide to Completing Form T661.
 

Key changes to the guide include:
 

• Descriptions on Filing requirements have been revised to reflect new filing procedures.
• Descriptions for Lines 204, 206, 230, 232 and 240 to 244 have been revised for clarity. Example for calculating overall cap on Prescribed Proxy Amount (PPA) has been revised.
• Wording in Appendix 2 has been revised to account for business environment and first time claimants.
• Definitions for Technology base or level and Technological obstacles/uncertainties in the glossary have been revised for clarity.
• Seven new fields of science and technology codes have been added to Appendix 1. The new fields include:

1. Reliability analysis and non-destructive testing
2. Automotive and transportation engineering and manufacturing
3. Tooling, machinery and equipment engineering and manufacturing.
4. Heating, ventilation and Air conditioning engineering and manufacturing
5. Construction materials (organic and inorganic)
6. Oncology
7. Other engineering and technologies
